人的心很奇怪，脆弱得不需要刀子便能刻畫傷痕；然而即使破碎不堪，仍然能帶著它如往常般醒來，上班。

開始時我願意忍受以往所不能忍受，期望一個轉機。如今我只是聽著重複播放的歌曲，望向某處但並不真的看見什麼。

好瓜陳志勇 新作Arrival

陳志勇（Shaun Ｔan），有一半華人血統的知名澳洲插畫家。父親是馬來西亞人，母親是澳洲人，名字中的「Tan」音似「譚」，其實是「陳」的台語發音。青年時即為許多科幻小說畫插畫，繪本代表作品則有《失物招領》、《緋紅樹》、《兔子》及《觀象鏡》。最近他開始與皮克斯（Pixar）及其他動畫公司合作，《失物招領》也將改編成動畫短片。

知道「陳志勇」這個名字，完全是因為公司今年主力強推的書──《抵岸》。據說當主編向企劃一頁一頁解說時感動得泛出了淚光，於是這本來自澳洲的版權書還未進入編輯階段，名聲便已傳遍辦公室內大大小小的耳朵，連我這微不足道的基層小美編都能及時趕上這股熱潮，趕緊借來拜讀一下（通常基層小美編對公司一個月之後要出什麼書都是一問三不知啊！）。

《抵岸》原書名《The Arrival》，描述帶著全家人的冀望前往新世界尋找新生活的男子，在語言不通、生活習慣全然不同的陌生環境裡討生活，多虧親切好心的在地人指引方向、慷慨分享生活經驗；原來這些人們過去也都各自有過一段灰暗的故事，他們絕地逢生，並將希望傳給下一個鼓起勇氣跨入這片土地的人。

厚厚一百二十八頁的故事全無文字，而是藉由類似電影分鏡的連續小方格描繪細節，隨著情節縮放鏡頭成整頁或跨頁的畫面，並以細膩仿舊的質感營造氣氛。「移民」對我這打從出生就沒離開過這個國家的人來說原本是很難產生共鳴的議題，然而從陳志勇的畫筆下卻能深刻地感受到人物的情緒變化、佩服人們追求幸福的勇氣、相信人性溫暖的一面。隨著故事的腳步，真實的人生就體現在一幕幕綺麗的天空、奇幻的天際線之間。
